Molana Abdul Mannan
Maulana Abdul Mannan was born in Doyan to an ethnic Shin-Kohistani caste belong to Gabaro tribe of Juglote-Sai.
He is renowned as Mujahid e Awal Gilgit Baltistan, a Living legend at the age of 97 years. Founder Ameer of Jamat e Islami Gilgit Baltistan and AJ&K. Moulana Abdul Mannan fought against Dogra regime in 1947 revolution. In 1948 Pakistan-India war he prepared a contingent of freedom fighters and fought on LOC of Gilgit Baltistan and Indian held Kashmir against Indian occupation and captured various regions upto kargil & Zojila sectors. His Book on Kashmir revolt ” Doyan se Zojila Tak- mera safari e jihad” is worth to read.
