Early life and career
On December 15, 1959, Mr. Habib ur Rehman S/O Muhammed Raza was born in Juglote-Sai, to an ethnic Shin caste that belongs to a Gabbaro tribe. His Father Moulana Muhammad Raza(late) was of his time mesmerised as a renowned Islamic Scholar, notable and Agriculturist of JuglotSai.
In 1977, Mr. Habib urRehman passed FSc (pre medical) from Degree college Muzafarabad, AJ&K.
In 1979 he went to Karachi to get admission in the University of Karachi and gained BSc(Hon), MSc (Distinction) degrees in Chemistry.
In 1982 he married to the eldest Daughter of living legend & Islamic scholar/Poet, the Pir of Thak, sheikh Ghulam Un Naseer known as Chilasi Baba.
In 1984 he joined Employees Old Age Benefit Institution-EOBI as an Executive Officer.
In 1985 he was selected and appointed as Sub Divisional Forest officer-SDFO in Forest Department of Northern Areas Gilgit but in a short period of three months during the training in Pakistan Forest Institute-Peshawer, he left this job. Subsequently he joined United Bank limited Rawalpindi as a Branch manager but resigned in a six months when his Father realised that the Banks were practicing lending money at unreasonably highest rate of interest and bank transaction system was based on usury (سودیکاروبار) which was totally against the basic principles of Islam.
In Feb, 1986 respecting his father’s wishes, he resigned & returned the salary of six months to the bank and had started to taught Chemistry at Federal Government Degree College, Chilas as a lecturer under the Department of Colleges and Education of Northern Areas Administration. At that time, the NA’s of Pakistan was not given any political system whereas, the Government servants were not given any progressions, therefore in 1988, Mr Rehman opted an opportunity to join again Federal Government’s Employees Old Age Benefit Institution – EOBI under Federal ministry of labour and oversees, as an Assistant Director.
He went on to become the Director of EOBI , while he had held the position of Regional Head of EOBI offices of Hazara Region at Abbotabad, Northern Areas region at GILGIT , Rawalpindi Region at Islamabad, Attock Region, and Mardan region. Mr Habib urRehman retires from the post of Deputy Director General as an Adjudicating Authority of Adjudication Department of EOBI on 14 December 2019.
